Aggressive brushing irritates the soft tissue inside your mouth. That irritation? Yeah, it’s one of the top causes of ulcers.

Try this: Switch to a toothbrush designed for sensitive gums. Look for labels like “soft” or “ultra-soft.” Avoid anything labeled “hard” unless your dentist tells you otherwise.

And while you’re at it, check your technique. Circular motions work better than horizontal scrubbing.

2. Floss Daily (Yes, Really)

Let’s be honest—most people skip flossing. You know it. I know it.

But food stuck between teeth can lead to bacterial buildup. Those bacteria don’t just cause bad breath—they can also irritate your gums and inner cheeks, triggering ulcers.
